If you know internet, you know that eyebrows are EVERYTHING right now. Girls kill for perfectly shaped eyebrows. They frame your face and literally make all the difference. Well, there is a new trend that’s taking over the world at the moment (Nigeria included) and it’s called microblading. If you’ve plucked your eyebrows in the past to the point of having two thin threads above your eyes, have no fear, because this beauty trend will give you the natural look of full, beautiful brows.
You might be wondering; what is the procedure like exactly? is it similar to tattooed eyebrows? Microblading, although similar idea, is not the same as an eyebrow tattoo. In microblading, a manual tool is used unlike in tattooing (machine).
Also, microblading only penetrates the first layer of the skin.
It is therefore semi-permanent, unlike tattooing that pushes the ink much deeper in the skin making it more permanent. The tool is dipped in ink, feather like or hairlike strokes are made on the eyebrows and then excess ink is spread to fill it in if needed and voila!
The procedure MUST be done by a trained beautician, it lasts up to about two to three years depending on how well it’s managed. A touch up is done after four weeks to make sure the desired effects are gotten and then in between touch ups are done to make sure they stay ‘popping.’
For my lagos ladies, The Beauty Atelier is skilled in the art of microblading. I won’t recommend if i wasn’t sure.
